One final Anteater before Christmas.

The last print before my pens went down for Christmas.

 My truly extraordinary idea sketch.

Sketching out sitting or standing variations.

Went with standing.

 Getting hairy.

 Layering it up.

 Super rough photoshop mock up.

Running out of time - super close to going with a cop out. Moved printing days and freed up a few more hours.

Final composition in photoshop. Ready to print.

 Tongue down.

 Followed by body base colour.

 Layer three - brown.

 Final Print.
 Ant close up.

Print wrapped and delivered to Studio 73 for Christmas Shoppers.

Museum of childhood toy horse.

Stayed up til two messing around with a mini horse toy from V&A Museum of Childhood. Way to tired too make it look good. Eventually admitted defeat, stuck it in the 'think about later' folder and walked away. Think it needs more horses or an actual composition would be helpful too...

Back home to a box of skeletons + Cat Composition

Woop! Mr Skeleton arrived! With a mini twin..... Not quite sure what happened with the order there..... but I now have more than enough skeletons!

I'm addicted to the screen grab button - My computer is steadily filling up with PNG's. Anyway below - cat composition tests.

Thought my previous lines looked a bit budget and added some more stylised ones here. Bit like tribal neck rings for cats.

Liked the rings - dumped the green.

Went for pink on gray and stopped the cat from floating in the middle of the cactus block.

Printouts - testing cat and background sizes. Went for the middle size.

Terrible indecision and melt downs over composition or because sometimes I'm terrible at making decisions without asking 15 people first.

Crows drawn and ready to go I collapsed into a total meltdown of indecision. I'd drawn some birds, what the hell was I supposed to do with them now? Stick them in the middle of a page?? Wasn't that what people usually did? In this week composition was a dirty word.

My melt down was also partially due to the fact that I was trying to keep the crows a secret from my brother. I'm terrible at keeping secrets and cutting myself off from the one person I'm constantly harassing for their aesthetic opinion was not a good combination. The crows were also swinging wildly away from original idea of a very muted terribly sophisticated print and I'd started adding tunnocks teacakes to the mix.... not good.

Here's a step by step breakdown in pictures.

Finally a decision. I caved and showed my brother, told him it was going to be two weeks late for his birthday and gave him some spoons instead..... fail.
